Waterjet Cutting FRP Grating
Waterjet cutting FRP Grating creates no airborne dust, allows great precision/finish & allows you to cut more than just straight lines.
What is FRP Grating:
FRP short for fibre reinforced plastic & is a lightweight alternative for boardwalks, elevated working platforms and any raised walk way. FRP grating is made of resin infused fibreglass which means its acts very similar to fibreglass when cut.
FRP grating is commonly cut on site using a saw, angle grinder, circular saw or even a hand saw can be used if necessary. Unfortunately this results in a poor finish as seen below & also in filling the air the with fibreglass particles which is less than ideal.
If you compare a saw cut to waterjet cut FRP our cut looks similar to the non-cut edges where saw cut will give you a rough cut edge. See our guide on Quality Vs Cost to get the right cut for your job!
Another advantage of waterjet cutting FRP is that you are not limited to straight lines If you can draw it on the surface with a permanent marker we can cut it. Contact us or see our FAQs for more info.
